FRAGMENT ALERT!
Taking the Foro Boario as a series of disconnected fragments, this project uses its form to suture this once urban space back together. The ancient and medieval monuments are embraced by our interventions, without touching them. We take this attitude further to the Tiber, reestablishing a proper connection with the rest of the city, and creating new interactions with the Ponte Rotto. The museum frames views towards the various monuments on the site and offers users a chance to look through its archives. The project, while overall keeping a low profile by peeling from existing retaining walls, reconnects this area with a more urban character and provides smooth transitions between these disparate spaces.
